Overnight Breakfast Casserole

A hearty breakfast casserole made with sausage, eggs, and cheese, prepared the night before for a quick and convenient morning meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 loaf bread, cubed
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any fat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
  3. Place the cubed bread in a greased baking dish, layer the cooked sausage on top, and pour the egg mixture over it.
  4. Top with shredded cheese.
  5. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  6. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  7. Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Use stale bread for the best texture. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or switch up the cheese.
