- 1 pound sausage
- 8 eggs
- 2 cups milk
- 1 loaf bread, cubed
- 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any fat.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
- Place the cubed bread in a greased baking dish, layer the cooked sausage on top, and pour the egg mixture over it.
- Top with shredded cheese.
- Cover and refrigerate overnight.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake uncovered for 45-50 minutes or until the casserole is set and golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
Use stale bread for the best texture. Feel free to add your favorite vegetables or switch up the cheese.
