Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole

A hearty breakfast dish combining flaky biscuits, savory sausage, creamy gravy, and cheesy goodness, perfect for brunch.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp butter
  • ½ onion, diced
  • 10 oz refrigerated biscuit dough, cut into pieces
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 5 eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1½ cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1½ cups prepared country gravy

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and cook until browned.
  3. Add the breakfast sausage to the skillet. Cook until the sausage is browned and no longer pink. Drain any excess grease.
  4. Place the biscuit pieces in the greased baking dish. Then, add the cooked sausage mixture on top.
  5. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, whole milk, and oregano. Pour this mixture over the sausage and biscuits.
  6. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top, and cover with the prepared country gravy.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until everything is golden brown and set. Serve warm.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Can be frozen before baking for up to 2 months.
